Dr. Huang has over 25 years experience as an Ophthalmologist and eye surgeon. He trained at the Wilmer Eye Institute of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and received advanced fellowship training in Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute of the University of Miami. Each institution is ranked number one for eye care and/or the number one program for the ophthalmic training. Dr. Huang is Board-Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, one of the oldest and most-prestigious boards in all of medicine.
In his 20 year career in academic medicine at the Case Western Reserve University, Dr. Huang was responsibile for the retina training of over 120 residents and fellows and pioneered the use of multiple procedures at the University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. He is a nationally and internationally sought-after lecturer on the topic of retina surgery and has served to organize the scientific programs for the American Society of Retina Specialists (ASRS) and the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO); the two largest organizations of their kind. Dr. Huang continues to conduct research to better improve surgical techniques, participates in cutting-edge development of new instruments, and as a Past-President of the ASRS, is cognizant of the most recent scientific advances in the retina field.
